EFFECTIVE SATURDAY, MAY 17: If you havent already seen the A-frames in the bus loops and rail stations, or been handed a flier by a MARTA employee who has volunteered to help spread the word: MARTA will be closing unmanned bus doors in bus bays. As with other bus systems, customers will not be allowed to board unmanned buses. This is another measure to address fare evasion. While we understand this may be an inconvenience to some, it is a necessary step to recover lost revenue due to those riders who board the unmanned buses without paying. Fare evaders are not paying their fair share and MARTAs paying customers have been complaining about this for years.
