EGGSHELL KABUKI CLINCHES AL CENTRAL Fri. Morning game - [Phoenix - Chase Field] Arizona 5 Eggshell Kabuki 3 WP - 2009 Randy Wolf (4-4) Save - 1989 Dennis Eckersley #42 LP - 1908 Ed Summers (24-14) star - Ari p Randy Wolf - 7.1 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 0 W, 3 K - W. EK finally got to Wolf in a 3-Run 8th Inning rally, but all the Runs scored after Wolf left the game and EK Left the Bases Loaded. Wolf even chipped-in with his first Hit of the season, a Double (#1) leading off the 5th. Standings - A Loss by 2nd Place San Diego allows EK to clinch the AL Central. EK leads by 9 Games with 8 to play. EK becomes my third straight Playoff team. Ironically, one of my earliest clinching teams, EK needs very little rest. Adding their Rookie Starting Pitcher to the Rotation and taking card to set the Rotation for the ALDS is their one concern. It is difficult to imagine a scenario in which EK does other than host the Wildcard team from AL West in the ALCS Opener. At the moment that is San Diego, but 1st Place Houston leads by only 3 Games. notes: By closing to 1 GB in NL East, Sac Fungus is bidding to become my 4th straight Playoff team. Baseless Aerialists seemed like a good bet to Win their Wildcard Race to be #5. But with that Race now tied, that is only a possibility. #6, Agitated Zaibatsu, seems unlikely. Yet, based on current Standings, the idea of 9 Playoff teams out of 10 seems plausible. Now it is time to start winning a few Pennants. EK will be my 29th Playoff team. To date I have 7 Pennants and 2 World Series wins.
