ELECTIONS MATTER (#4). This bill from Michigan (see link) is essentially the same bill that Lynn Luker wrote and sponsored during the 2014 Idaho legislative session - to allow businesses to discriminate and deny service to people who dont share their religious beliefs. This is not only terrible for basic human rights, its terrible for business. What company wanting to attract the best-educated and skilled talent from a diverse workforce will want to locate in an Idaho where their employees can be denied service SIMPLY BECAUSE OF WHO THEY ARE? Luker told the Idaho Statesman in May of this year that he plans to work on this legislation again during the 2015 session. I think West Boise constituents in District 15 would be better served if our legislators focused on real problems like fixing education, improving our economy and eradicating corruption from high office. Those were the top priorities voters shared with me when I ran against Luker this year - and they remain the top priorities. Elections matter. Hold them accountable.
