ELLA FAMILY Medical Update: $496.00 later... thank you SO much to Anonymous for the $200 donation toward their vet bill!!! Thank you to Dr. Palmer & Gulfgate Animal Hospital for being so accommodating to special needs doggies. Most vets would kick us out and not want to deal with these scared girlies. We are grateful. Aside from all having diarrhea since we were in Austin last weekend...ugh...we have some good news! Amaya: Demodex is back in full force, so treating again, BUT, she is now heartworm negative!!! (after testing postive when pulled from the field in October 2013) Michiko: Still HW negative and she is currently free of Demodex. Ella: After testing a strong HW positive October 2013, she is now a low HW positive! Vet prescribed one more round of Doxycycline (thank you to Stephanie Glass for the doxy donation over the summer...I will use it for this round!) and continue on Advantage Multi. She should be negative pretty soon. I feel much better about Ellas HW status. Shes old and heartworms are no good for an old girl. Phew!
