ENTREPRENEURSHIP 2 PASTOR TUNJI AKINOLA Proverbs 22: 29 Do you see a man who excels in his work, he will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men. Introduction Diligence in business, excellence at work, ethics and productivity level have a way of pushing you up in life, to the highest height ordained by the Lord for you. The Lord Gave me a Word : The economy is falling (I perceive this is primarily the economy of our nation and by extension the economy of the nations) but for International House of His Presence your economy will rise if you trust Me (demonstrate your faith in the Livng God Who gives all things freely to enjoy), walk with Me (conduct your affairs in My Presence) and work by Me(conduct your affairs by Heaven’s Principles). I need to sound a note of warning here! These teachings are not Lagos, London or Harvard Business Schools. Rather, these are teachings meant to bring understanding in the light of the Prophetic Word so that we can know how to equip and position ourselves for what heaven is aware of that we are not! For instance, famine and austerity do not catch God unawares. We are therefore bringing strategies that when engaged by the wisdom of God, what is iminent upon the earth will not adversely affect us. He does this because He wants to show us that we are from another kingdom. When men say, ‘there is a casting down’ you will say, ‘there is lifting up’. What they say are the byproducts of what is happening:- redundancies at jobs/workplaces; sack letters without prior notices; foreclosures; etc. Even in the face of all of these, you will say: ‘there is a lifting up and rising’. This is what makes your verdict different from that of the world. What will make a difference is that you don’t tune your life and dance to the drumbeat of the world. Heavens drumbeat is always different from the earth’s! TWO VITAL PARTNERS Inspiration and Perspiration: -the two vital partners to entrepreneurship. The renowned Amenrican inventor and elder statesman who invented the incandescent bulb: -Thomas Edison once said, ‘Genius is one percent (1%) inspiration and ninety-nine percent (99%) perspiration’. If the Word of God will come to pass in your life, you have to factor these two points into your life. You have to ask yourself questions on these issues and get answers and if your answers don’t impress you, its a sign that they won’t impress God. Inspiration and Perspiration will take you above the common... Inspiration Job 32: 8 There is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the almighty brings understanding. This spirit in man is not the Holy Spirit but the human spirit. Inspiration comes from the interface between the human spirit and the Holy Spirit. Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, it has not entered the heart of men what God has prepared for those who love Him but God has revealed them to us by His Spirit. Entrepreneurship is not about doing just anything. God does not bless just anything. God blesses what He inspires. God is only committed to what He initiates. God wants to prosper and bless you but you can’t bring just anything for God to bless. You bring to God what He commands, initiates and is the source of. One dimension of entrepreneurship is that you learn to be inspired by the Lord. Inspiration must be rooted in God; this is the God factor to your breakthrough. Inspiration talks about the God dimension. God wants to change your fortune and position as well as do something supernatural in your life. He wants to do something that you will be sure you didn’t get by your energy. Perspiration Inspiration is vital and strategic but it is only a strategic one percent ! To turn your inspiration into accomplishment, there must be perspiration!!! Get ready to work. It is said in some quarters that Thomas Edison experimented 3000 times before inventing the incandescent bulb. When Thomas was asked if he failed 2999 times, he said,’ No ! But that he had only learnt 2999 ways by which he could not make a light bulb !!! Awesome !!! Every time it looks like you have failed, you just mastered something you shouldn’t do and how you shouldnt do it! How many of us are persistent? How many have failed but are willing to try and try and try again? Don’t just be the man with dreams; -be diligent, dogged, persistent and persevering and the barricades will be broken!!! Even the hindrances will give way!!!
