EPS Prescription Tracker The ‘Health and Social Care - TopicsExpress

EPS Prescription Tracker The ‘Health and Social Care Information Centre’ (HSCIC) have developed a web based ‘Prescription Tracker’ tool which will help you locate missing prescriptions by entering the prescription ID. To access this tool all you will need to have is access to the Internet and a valid Smartcard. No specific Job Role or Access rights are required on your Smartcard to use this tool. What is Prescription Tracker? When using EPS Release 2 there have been occasions when some pharmacies have experienced difficulty in locating electronic prescriptions. From the GP Practice / Pharmacies reporting the problems to IT support and upon further investigation, missing prescriptions have been mainly due to a technical issue of some description. The result of this has caused frustrations for the GP Practice, the Pharmacy but most of all, the patient. This tool will allow you to enter a prescription ID and find out where in the process a prescription is at that time. It will confirm if the prescription: • has left the prescribing site • has reached the Spine • has been delivered to a dispensing site Where there is no technical issue, the tool will assist healthcare professionals in their decision about what action to take next. If there is a technical issue, the tool will help determine where that issue lies. How to access the Prescription Tracker: Please click on the following link and ensure you have your Smartcard to hand: epstracker.cfh.nhs.uk/check.php Who can I contact if I have a problem with the Electronic Prescription Tracker? If you experience any problems with the tracker you should contact your EPS System Supplier. If necessary, your system supplier will contact the National Service Desk.
