EVIDENCES PROVE VDCS TERRORIST SECTIONS OF SANGH PARIVAR, CLAIMS GEELANI ‘NATIONAL MEDIA REPORTING ABOUT KASHMIR BIASED’ Srinagar, Aug 16 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani Friday categorically said that evidences prove the Village Defence Committees (VDCs) are terrorist sections of Sangh Parivar. While commenting over intelligence reports about recent riots in Jammu province Geelani said,“We had discussed the matter a month ago and now the intelligence report published have literally confirmed our claim that a particular community in Jammuprovince is being harassed and it is a part of a planned conspiracy.” While reiterating his appeal for complete shutdown on August 17 he stressed for the dissolution of VDCs. Hailing the efforts of a few sections he expressed his satisfaction over the efforts for their efforts in creating an atmosphere of bilateral brotherhood and expressed his pleasure that Hindu community in the province was not pulled away by communal forces nor they became party in their ploy against the Muslim community. While commenting over intelligence reports Geelani said that report has in clear words denied the statements of Omar Abdullah and Home Secretary Suresh Kumar, wherein they had provided a clean chit to Sangh Prewar and members of VDCs. The Hurriyat (G) chairman reiterated that procession which was organized in Kishtwar was not against anycommunity nor it has anythingto do with communal disturbances and added that in fact rally organized by Muslim community on Eid was not against any particular community or sect and had nothing to do with communal ideology. “People actually were protesting against the wrongdoings of members of Village Defense committees and added that communal elements had already hatched a conspiracy to instigate violence and were looking for an opportunity and a particular place and onthe eve of Eid they pelted stones on the procession of Muslims,” he claimed. Strongly condemning the detention of local Muslim leader Molvi Abdul Qayoom he said there is no constitutional and moral justification for this and alleged that Omar Abdullah was scared offanatic groups like Sangh Parivar and shows reluctance to take anyaction against those responsible for the roits. While criticizing Omar led administration Geelani said that he (Omar) is afraid of these communal elements andhas apprehensions that if they are arrested, they will create disturbance all over the country. “In order to appease these forces, Molvi Qayoom was made a scope goat and a soft target.” In his appeal to dignitaries belonging to both the communities he sought their help in support of demand fordissolution of these VDCs and added that for prevalence of peace it is necessary to maintain mutual brotherhood among different communities in province. Geelani warned that if this force is not dissolved and allowed to continue, then it will have serious consequences and added in that case Omar and his government will have to share overall responsibility. The Hurriyat (G) chairman criticized the role of national electronic and print media and claimed that while reporting about the Kashmir they are behaving in a biased manner and act in an arrogant manner. Criticizing their ‘bias and false reporting’ he alleged that they are making tainted reports while commenting over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Geelani expressed his concern over the growing influence of fanatic elements over the media and claimed that 90 percent of Indian TV and media are playing as mouth piece for RSS and Sangh Parivar groups. “The tall claims of India to be a great republic has proved wrong and it appears that in near future the country will come out openly as a Hindu Rashtra. In that case it will bea difficult place for minorities, including Muslims to live in,” he claimed.
