Earlier this afternoon we posted a video on how El Niño forms. This is relevant to the likelihood of the El Niño pattern being in place for this upcoming hurricane season. Today, the NWS Miami office released its annual wet season outlook indicating what we may expect as far as South Florida weather is concerned during the upcoming wet season. The median start date of our rainy season is May 20th, however this year it will start later than normal due to the dry air which has been in place since last Friday. Nevertheless, once the rainy season kicks in we will see rain on many, if not most, days into early to mid-October. Check the following link for details on our outlook for this wet season. srh.noaa.gov/images/mfl/news/RainySeasonOutlook2014.pdf
