Blood signifies life and for good reason---it has many vital functions.This complex mixture of cells, cell fragments, and dissolved biochemicals transports nutrients, oxygen, wastes, and hormones; helps maintain the stability of the interstitial fluid; and distributes heat. Now let me explain .....sickle cell disease is a blood disorder, therefore less oxygen is transport through the body which in turn require use of nasal cannula or face mask for oxygen when your in the hospital and some times at home.
