Edward Snowden has a very interesting interview with the Guardian - TopicsExpress

Edward Snowden has a very interesting interview with the Guardian paper, again. Having given his detractors a respectful listen, I dissent from the vilification of this young man; he remains a hero to me. Three thoughts come to mind, from the content of the article: 1) Snowden is spot on about the incident involving the detention of the plane carrying President Evo Morales. Our intelligence services are largely incompetents; from my firsthand experience, and all that I read. What a truly embarrassing act. 2) Enlisted military personnel on their first tour of duty are given the job of culling through the private electronic files and correspondence of their fellow Americans. WTFO? You need to know my young charges, my current clients, only to know that that is a disaster waiting to happen, or that has happened, no doubt! 3) The profiling done by our government wizards are so off. I recall the quintessential example, the profiling of the DC shooter in 2002-03. The FBI et al. were so off on the man, his motive, and even his mode of transportation. Heck, I was stopped by a security officer of the Stafford County, Virginia public schools when I was substitute teaching between my USMC and my USAO NDTX days - and I could not be more of a polar opposite to the actual perp. So, Vivat Snowden, and perhaps this is the beginning of a true reform of our intelligence agencies. Semper Fi, Mc
