El maraton marina was sponsored by the State of Yucatan. Participants had the option to run a full marathon, half marathon or a relay marathon which consisted of teams of 5 persons. Central College Abroad fielded THREE teams. The first two runners of each team ran 10kms, the third ran 5kms, the fourth 7 kms and the last runner ran 10.195 kms. For an entry fee of 150 pesos, runners received a shirt, hat, drawstring backbag and transportation to the various starting points. Start time was 5:15 a.m....more or less. All of the Central Abroad teams had crossed the finish line by about 9:15...more or less.
