Email I sent to Duval Patricks office: I would like to speak to Governor Patrick, as I am highly concerned he is ignoring the urgent matter of the Market Basket boycott. The NH governor has gotten involved, and many other law makers across MA, NH and ME have taken a stand to support this cause to encourage the BOD and Arthur S Demoulas to accept Arthur T Demoulas bid to buy the remaining shares. Where is Governor Patrick? Some say that our politicians should not get involved in private business. Without question or hesitation, I ask that Governor Patrick consider that our politicians should ABSOLUTELY be involved 100%, This is not an opinion...its a matter of public resources. The BODs decisions impact the livelihoods of 25,000+ employees across MA and NH and now southern ME. Who will pick up the pieces when F&G succeed at dismantling the company piece by piece? Thousands will add to the unemployment rate in New England. What does that translate into for the already overburdened tax system we have in place?!?!?!? When our employees and customers cant afford the cost of the skyrocketed grocery bills at ASDs sold-out Market Basket of the future where debt is all the rage, thousands will need to apply for additional government-funded food stamps. Food pantries will suffer even more because there will be too many people to serve. Employees and customers will not be able to pay rent or mortgage as easily. Do you see the signs of economic recession glaring back at you with this struggle?!?! Get those politicians on the front line and get them fighting for their constituents. Thats their whole purpose - to fight for resources and to keep the systems from being overburdened. We need Governor Patrick to add his weight to this cause. A simple letter to the BOD and to Arthur S and his sisters would suffice...just to show your thousands and thousands of constituents that you care about our welfare and the regional economy.
