English Hello, this Thursday, 4th of July, as part of the programme "We are all humans", there is going to be a podium discussion on the issue of „What is inclusion/ adaptation and transnationality in Austria?“. Several activists and speakers from the refugee protest movement and also Michael Genner of "Asyl in Not" are invited for the podium. As part of the programme, there will also be a screening of video clips, showing testimonies of people who were deported from Austria and Germany to Togo and Nigeria during the last years (Clips produced by Aylin Basran and Hans-Georg Eberl). Time: Thursday, 4th of July, at 7.30 pm Place: CENTRO ONCE Schneiderg. 15a, 1110 Wien / Simmering The Video clips were made during a journey to Togo and Nigeria in May this year where we met people who had been deported from Austria and Germany, doing documentation about the stories they have to tell. The short video clips are a first output of this work and were made for a refugee tribunal that took place in June this year, organised by the "Caravan for the Rights of Refugees and Migrants", with the support of the transnational network "Afrique Europe Interact". A much longer 75 minutes documentary film about people who were deported from Austria and Germany to Togo and Nigeria - title "Da.Sein" - shall come out on 17th of September this year during Wienwoche 2013. The statements of the people who were deported reveal alarming testimonies about systematic racist human rights violations committed by the police during deportations, for example during the charter flight deportations from Vienna Airport to Nigeria taking place every few weeks: People are tied and beaten to force them into the plane, some people get seriously injured through the police brutality... But also other aspects of more "silent" injustices committed through the deportation system become clear through the statements: besides those who are brutally forced into the airplanes by the police, there are also people who are perssurized so much by the authorities that they finally see no other option than agreeing to a so-called "voluntary return". Deportation through open police brutality and "voluntary return" through threat of deportation and psychological pressure are different methods of the same system... Als Teil des Programms wird es außerdem ein Screening von Videoclips mit Zeugenaussagen von Menschen, die in den letzten Jahren von Deutschland und Österreich nach Togo und Nigeria abgeschoben wurden, geben (Clips produziert von Aylin Basaran und Hans-Georg Eberl). Zeit: Donnerstag, 4. of Juli, ab 19 Uhr 30 Ort: CENTRO ONCE Schneiderg. 15a, 1110 Wien / Simmering Die Vieoclips entstanden bei einer Reise nach Togo und Nigeria im Mai diesen Jahres, wo wir uns mit Menschen trafen, die von Deutschland und Österreich nach Togo und Nigeria abgeschoben wurden, um ihre Geschichte zu dokumentieren. Die Videoclips sind das erste Resultat dieser Arbeit und wurden angefertigt für ein Refugee-Tribunal, das im Juni diesen Jahres in Berlin stattfand, organisiert von der Karawane für die Rechte der Flüchtlinge und MigrantInnen und unterstützt durch das transnationale Netzwerk Afrique Europe Interact. Ein viel längerer 75 minütiger Dokumentarfilm über Menschen, die aus Deutschland und Österreich nach Togo und Nigeria abgeschoben wurden, erscheint ab 17. September im Rahmen der Wienwoche 2013. Die Statements der Leute, die abgeschoben wurden, bringen alarmierende Zeugenaussagen über systematische rassistische Menschenrechtsverletzungen durch die Polizei bei Abschiebungen zu Tage, z.B. bei den alle paar Wochen stattfindenden Charterabschiebungen von Wien nach Nigeria: Menschen werden gefesselt und geschlagen, um sie ins Flugzeug zu zwingen, manche erleiden durch die Polizeibrutalität schwere Verletzungen... Doch auch andere, "stillere", Formen des Unrechts, das durch das Abschiebesystem verübt wird, werden in den Staements deutlich: Neben denjenigen, die mit brutaler Polizeigewalt ins Flugzeug gezwungen werden, gibt es auch diejenigen, die von den Behörden so massiv unter Druck gesetzt wurden, dass sie keine andere Möglichkeit mehr gesehen haben, als einer sog. "freiwilligen Ausreise" zuzustimmen. Abschiebung durch offene Polizeibrutalität und "Freiwillige Ausreise" durch Abschiebedrohung und Psychoterror sind nur verschiedene Methoden des gleichen Systems...
