About Judge Mablean Before fittingly portraying a judge in Madea’s Family Reunion and Madea Goes to Jail, Judge Mablean served as the judge on the courtroom series Divorce Court from 1999 to 2006. Judge Mablean’s trademark phrase “Look deep before you leap” soon became a household phrase. For over 30 years, Judge Mablean represented families in her Los Angeles based private practice. Judge Mablean is also a licensed mediator, author, public speaker. As the former presiding Judge on Fox’s Divorce Court for seven seasons, she heard over a thousand couples in crisis and made Divorce Court the number three court show in America. Since Divorce Court, in addition to speaking, she has focused her time and energy working on the mission of her nonprofit, The Mablean Ephriam Foundation, which is to build stronger families, educate minds, increase economic power among disadvantaged and lower economic persons and thus create better communities.
