Every year I lose a few friends/page followers for sharing my thoughts on Veterans Day, but every year I will say the same thing: How dare we pretend, one day a year, to care about vets, when we continue to elect politicians who throw them under the bus at every opportunity? How dare we call for more war when we wont even support those who fought in the previous ones? How dare we pretend to honor those whove served by actually accepting a discount on the made-not-in-USA garbage we want to buy for OURSELVES from stores that wont give a year-round discount to vets, but capitalize on yet another excuse to get you in the door? Im calling bullshit on Veterans Day. Item of dissent. My respect to those who served. And my contempt for those who exploit their service with their paltry platitudes once a year. And this is a wholly bipartisan gripe.
