Every year when its time to do taxes, Im asked to implicitly trust that Jake Glover from the previous fiscal year, whom I know by reputation to be a woefully irresponsible, shambling drunkard and unrepentant jackass, did correctly document and curate certain numbers and papers in a manner conducive to recall by a mind that will have suffered another whole years worth of deterioration by the time it is asked to perform this task. Instead of buying a small filing cabinet or getting married, I annually ask myself the degrading question What animal will I be as dumb as in a year, and how would I trick that animal into finding my tax documents for me?
