To obtain a cursory idea and imagining the ugly face of just a fragment of cultural down trend watch this video https://facebook/video.php?v=764965383568308 Islam is not being practised then why should we trace the roots of prevailing chaos and evil in religion. Let me put the words of oath before you that every practising muslim is supposed to affirm more or less 50 times daily: Surah Al-Fatiha In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful (1) Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, (2) The Beneficent, the Merciful. (3) Owner of the Day of Judgment, (4) Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. (5) Show us the straight path, (6) The path of those whom Thou hast favoured. Not (the path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray. (7) My dear friend can anybody guess and imagine that under this solemn oath and while the text of this oath is supposed to be repeated five times in fixed prayers ; if counting only Farz salaat , then it must be 17 times, can any muslim go astray to that extent that we witness committing heinous deeds , crimes and barbaric acts . Now let us have a glance on the Particular enunciation of Islam which is the opening statement in the Glorious Quran which every practising Muslim read while reciting Quran e Hakeem: Surah Al-Baqara In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). (2) Who believe in the Unseen, and establish worship, and spend of that We have bestowed upon them; (3) And who believe in that which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) and that which was revealed before thee, and are certain of the Hereafter. (4) These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. (7) Let us look at another affirmation( AYAIYTUL KURSI) in this continuation as under: Surah Al-Baqara (254) Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous. (255) There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold Lastly the prayer prescribed is as under: Surah Al-Baqara The messenger believeth in that which hath been revealed unto him from his Lord and (so do) believers. Each one believeth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction between any of His messengers - and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying. (285) Allah tasketh not a soul beyond its scope. For it (is only) that which it hath earned, and against it (only) that which it hath deserved. Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget, or miss the mark! Our Lord! Lay not on us such a burden as thou didst lay on those before us! Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear! Pardon us, absolve us and have mercy on us, Thou, our Protector, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.) Another exhortation: Surah Al-Maun In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful Hast thou observed him who belieth religion? (1) That is he who repelleth the orphan, (2) And urgeth not the feeding of the needy. (3) Ah, woe unto worshippers (4) Who are heedless of their prayer; (5) Who would be seen (at worship) (6) Yet refuse small kindnesses! (7) The above 7 ayat is the precis of all the accounts of present day misfortunes. The downfall, the deterioration we witness is due to ignorance, illiteracy, hegemony, vested interests, colonial rule, To enumerate the causes just one prominent one is : There were more than 650 autonomous states and rajwar(Loyal to British Rulers enjoying internal autonomy) and other cultivated and planted vested interests groups during colonial rule, in short 5% selectees used to control the 95 % population of subcontinent. Therefore, structural changes are required and drastic measures need to be taken. In India, to some extent , Vallabh Bhai Patel , the then first interior minister of India right after independance probed in the matters of states and vehemently opposed any other idea but to saw all the states merged at a lightening pace. Hence our worry, anxiety, disillusionment and a sense of disappointment should emerge in voicing for large scale reforms so that the masses could be free from the oppressors yoke and the youth be educated and groomed as responsible citizens. Only then they would understand the teachings and would practise them. What we see now is just ritual, without understanding a single word how can they be expected to practise it under subjugation.
