Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Sept 12: Panun Kashmir (PK), participated in a series of programmes in Tamil Nadu for the last one week. On an invitation received from Arjun Sampath, president of Hindu Makkal Katchi, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, P K visited nine districts of TN for the last five days. He attended the Ganesh Chaturthi programmes throughout the State. S.Yogeshawaran, Tamil MP from Sri Lanka was the special guest in these programmes. The three leaders from various backgrounds made a common cause and attended various programmes including 20 Ganesh Chaturthi programmes at Madurai, Rajapalyam, Tiruchendur, Rameshwaram, Udankudi, Chennai and its suburbs and Coimbatore. Both the special guests were felicitated enroute. Mr Chrungoo, while addressing various functions said that the Kashmiri Hindus, who are the victims of terrorism in the Valley, continue to live as refugees in their own country, now for the last 23 years. There are more than seven lakh Hindu displaced people from Kashmir and Jammu regions who have been forced to scatter due to the wrong policies of the Government. He said PK has assumed the role of making the nation aware about the protection of national interests in context of Kashmir issue. He also gave the example recent Kishtwar attack on minorities who are under threat of ethnic cleansing, exodus at the hands of the fundamentalists and terrorists. Pakistan continues to bleed India in the name of Kashmir with an objective of dismemberment of Indian nation. The successive governments at the Centre failed to respond to the dangerous security and political situation created by Pakistan, he added. He said the Kashmiri Hindus demand establishment of a separate Homeland for them in Kashmir with Union territory status where Indian Constitution will apply in letter and spirit. We also demand abrogation of Article 370 forthwith. Sri S Yogeshwaran, MP from Sri Lanka raised the issue of Tamil Hindu refugees from Sri Lanka. He said that it is the duty of the Indian state to bring the Sri Lankan Government and the Tamil representatives on the negotiating table for a settlement and evolve an everlasting solution to the problem. Thiru Arjun Sampath, President, Hindu Makkal Katchi said that the Kashmiri Hindu community has faced the worst because of the follies of the Government and the Islamic terrorists. Besides being the victims of Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism, they have become the victims of the State too. The state of India has miserably failed regarding the welfare of the displaced community of Hindus of Kashmir. We stand by them in their fight for the national cause and their human and fundamental rights
