Exercise-induced AMPK activation does not interfere with muscle - TopicsExpress

Exercise-induced AMPK activation does not interfere with muscle hypertrophy in response to resistance training in men Thats the title of a recently published study that confirms what I have been telling you back in the day, when I wrote the Intermittent Thoughts on Intermittent Fasting Series: The fasting / low ATP induced increase in AMPK that increases both glucose uptake and fatty acid oxidation does not impair the exercise induced increase in protein synthesis - in other words: Traning fasted does not mean that you wouldnt see a protein anabolic mTOR increase from the workout... what? No, of course you DO HAVE to consume an adequate amount of protein after the workout to realize the pro-anabolic potential. suppversity Reference: Lundberg, Tommy R., Rodrigo Fernandez-Gonzalo, and Per A.
