***Extreme cardio does NOT help you lose weight*** One of the most successful weight lost examples that I personally know of is Mark Razmandi. Mark lost an amazing 200 lbs in 6 month. Now Ive personally coached 2 clients down 100 lbs, but this was something worth investigating. So after hearing of his phenomenal success, I requested an interview with him to see how he did it? Much to my surprise, he didnt tell me anything I didnt already know about cardio and weight loss. Heres an excerpt from our conversation: ***Mark on nutrition Ya I lifted very avidly for 1.5 years and maybe lost 20lbs. I stopped gaining strength and became frustrated so I just decided to lose my fat instead. My diet is pretty basic. My protein consists of ground turkey, baked chicken, fish, nuts here and there and I dont eat red meat because heart disease runs in my family. I eat a ton of broccoli and spinach, lots of veggies but I stay away from corn and similar vegetables. Limit my oil intake, never eat fried. Etc etc. I never counted calories, didnt feel the need to. Oh and I also eat toonnns of fruit. Probably too much fruit some days. ***Mark on cardio, and why it doesnt always work I did absolutely zero cardio during my weight loss. I feel like cardio makes it harder to lose weight when youre trying to drop substantial amounts of weight because of several reasons. First of all, cardio makes my appetite double and thats hard to control. Also if someone doesnt have their diet completely in check then cardio can even eat your muscle. I started cycling after I lost most of my weight. Thank you Mark, and GOD bless you for being the example we all need to see and hear.
