FOR YOUR SAKE! 21 And he said to him, “See, I have favoured you concerning this thing also, in that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken. 22 Hurry, escape there. For I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. (Genesis 19:21-22). I believe most of us have watched the popular TV series “24”. Jack Bauer had served the US Government diligently with all his life but when the United States was threatened with a nuclear bomb attack they decided to give in to the terrorist’s request to exchange Jack Bauer for information on the terrorist attack. At a point, the US Government thought Jack Bauer wouldn’t give himself up willingly so they were planning on applying some force but he surprised everyone when he chose to die. He thought of the number of people he would save with his death and he said “I will rather die for something than die for nothing”. This statement has been with me since. I wish it could be said at the point of our death that we changed the world through the life we lived. We can only achieve this if we learn to carry each other’s burden (Galatians 6:2). Fortunately for us, we don’t have to die to change the world. We have a loving God who is willing to turn things around for our sake. He is willing to turn the curses that have been pronounced on us into blessings and He is willing to show His glory by making you a living testimony. He says behold I give you the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bind in Heaven and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loose in Heaven (Matthew 16:19). It’s time to open the doors of Heaven with the key of prayer! Kindly take a knee and pray to change your destiny and that of your family. Pray that even as you set off to work today, for your sake there should be no accidents. Pray also that for your sake your company should do well financially and no one should be laid off. Remember also to pray for those who are jobless and those in need of God’s mercy. You know the loose ends that need to be tightened through prayer and the knots that need to be loosened. God is waiting on the line just pick up the phone of prayer to turn things around for your sake. God bless you even as you do this every day!
