FREEDOM OF THE PRESS can never be exercised as an ABSOLUTE RIGHT! It must never be a refuge for corrupt and mercenary personalities hiding behind the badge of Media. Even the most respected and highly acknowledged media personalities like Marites Vitug have admitted to the reality of a deeply-entrenched corrupt practices and decadent culture in Philippine Media. It is high time that sensible media persons take a stand also on the issue of CORRUPTION and DECADENCE IN MEDIA. Perhaps simple wisdom like PRACTICE WHAT WE PREACH can help us lead towards the ways.... otherwise HYPOCRISY and DEMAGOGUERY will become the order of the day for media practice nowadays.
