FROM GLORY TO GLORY 2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (legitimate or licentious freedom). 2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from GLORY TO GLORY, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. In context, the scripture is not a progressive change into greater degrees of glories. It is not we are changed from glory to Glory to GLory to GLOry... to GLORy and tooo GLLLOOORRRy. The chapter from the first verse down compares and speaks of two kinds of glories from two separate institutes respectively. 1. The first is the Glory from the LAW, which was referred to has the letters that kill, note not the bible kills nor the scriptures kill. in context the Law kills. it was also called the ministration of condemnation in the dept of its glory. A strong point to note is that it has been DONE AWAY WITH EVEN IN ITs GLORY. I am sure we notice a lot of glories here... Eph 2:15 Having ABOLISHED (to cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish) in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 2 Corinthian 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 2. The second is the Glory from the ministration of the Spirit. It gives LIFE. it is the ministration of Righteousness. It doesnt fade. It stands sure. It dispenses love. It enables apart from works. The two cant be mixed together. The first, LAW is abolished(put away, vanish). 2Co 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: The ministration of the Spirit has a glory that even superceed: But when we turn to the Lord, who is the Spirit, we are set free from the old and its ministration. As we behold we move from the Glory of the old to the Glory of the new.
