FROM ZAMBIA TO UGANDA ………………………………………………………………………………. I won’t take you to history. Its #vote time in Zambia but its usually #wartime in Uganda. Zambian voters are choosing a new president following the death of Michael Sata in October last year. Todays’ vote is attended by many people who are keen to exercise their democratic rights but theres concern that heavy rain may affect turnout. #EDGAR #Lungu from the governing PATRIOTIC FRONT is facing a tough challenge from the opposition candidate #HAKAINDE #Hichilema of the UNITED PARTY for NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT. Both have promised to improve the Education System and Creation of Jobs. The capital Lusaka is peaceful and we expect the will of the people to be exercised IMPLICATIONS 1. The process of attaining a peaceful transition begins with the president 2. Citizens are at the centre stage of ensuring a democratic process of a free and credible elections 3. The power of incumbency is paramount in the attainment of any peaceful transition 4. Ugandans can too adopt from good practices and omit bad examples as Zimbabwe among others 5. Whereas there are many Zambians voting, we do not vote here in Uganda (Just ¼ vote) 6. We must demand for what is ours by rights 7. A transition can come as a process not as an outcome activity 8. Bad history is perpetuated by the existing or last leader 9. When citizens shan politics and elections, they must not complain when they are ruled by rats and fools 10. We can chose the best political and governance practices for our country Uganda 11. Etc you can add on the implications Thanks for accepting to be actors in shaping good governance for our motherland UGANDA
