FYI only - just sharing for purposes of keeping up with ongoing research. It can at times get somewhat frustrating to keep reading about all the suspected causes, and to hear the results of yet another research study that doesnt really provide any clear, concrete answers about a cure. However, it is good that research continues and folks are studying it. These researchers seem to suggest there are 2 types of autism... UCSD scientists previously found that suramin corrected ENVIRONMENTALLY CAUSED AUTISM symptoms in mice, but this is the first time the same result has been seen in GENETIC AUTISM. A recent research study conducted in Sweden involving 2 million participants concludes: Among children born in Sweden, the individual risk of ASD and autistic disorder increased with increasing genetic relatedness. Heritability of ASD and autistic disorder were estimated to be approximately 50%.
