Fall is in the air and it is time to begin a new show at the show at the Planetarium! Now Playing at the Planetarium – “Moons – Worlds of Mystery” The Palomar College Planetarium is open to the public every Friday! Two planetarium shows are offered each Friday night: • The first show is called “The Sky Tonight” and it uses the Digistar 4 to highlight the prominent celestial objects that are visible from San Diego skies. Many of the constellation patterns and their mythology will be discussed as the audience is taken on a tour of the current night sky. Other timely celestial events and astronomical news makers will be included and discussed as they occur throughout the year. • The second show each Friday is our full-dome presentation – Starting Friday 9/19 we will be showing “Moons – Worlds of Mystery”. About Moons: Worlds of Mystery This show captures the amazing diversity of moons and the role they play in shaping our solar system. Witness the formation of our Moon and then follow in the footsteps of astronauts. Journey to the outer planets and their many exotic moons. Watch the formation of Saturns rings and witness the volcanoes of Jupiters moon Io and more. Return home with newfound wonder about our dynamic solar system! Narrated by Ed Helms. Produced by the Museum of Science, Boston, this show features a beautiful original score. Running time: 35 minutes. Suitable for family audiences ages 5 and up. • We also offer free telescope viewing each Friday night (weather permitting). Information about shows, show times, ticket prices, and instructions for purchasing tickets is available at our website: palomar.edu/planetarium Tickets are affordable and discounts are available. Tickets can be purchased in advance through our online ticket agency (there is no additional fee for purchasing tickets online) or at the door on Friday nights. We hope to see you at the Planetarium
