Feeling exuberant, after attending a lovely afternoon and evening at a prize distribution function. My daughter won a 2nd prize for an INTER-SCHOOL, ON-THE-SPOT POETRY WRITING COMPETION organized by Rotary Club. I felt proud not just of my daughter but of all the multi-talented students there. It was a competition where 3000+ students from 35 schools of Navi Mumbai participated. I was surprised to know that there were competitions held in 47 different creative fields like singing, dancing, drawing, story writing, story telling, poetry writing etc. To be surrounded by so much of talent, was a wonderful feeling in itself ! It made me feel proud of all these youngsters, who are doing so exceptionally well in the NON-ACADEMIC fields too and bringing fame and recognition for themselves and their respective schools too. It was a good realization that ACADEMICS is but just one part of overall grooming of a student. So much more can be achieved in other areas too. I feel lucky as a parent that my daughter gave me a chance to witness such a spectacular event !
