Fellow Cape Mountanians,I have been bombarded with calls from within and outside of Liberia concerning an alleged rise in the Ebola related deaths in Jenewonde specifically,these callers insist they heard on a radio talk show that twenty plus (20+) persons have died in Jenewonde in the last few days,I want to state here clearly that this report is not just malicious and devilish but also very misleading and Ill intentioned. We have just concluded our task force meeting today in the city of Robertsport and this concern was raised by most of those in attendance including our international Partners that are working with us. Since the 19th of October,we have had a very new and fruitful engagement with the People of Jenewonde and they have been very cooperative and supportive of efforts to bring the whole Ebola situation under control,Jenewonde from the 19th till date have reported only 3 deaths all coming from those that were quarantined,of course even though considered Probable we can not declare those cases as confirmed unless the results indicate that.in all these cases,and unlike previous situations where the people of Jenewonde would bath and prepared the bodies,the county burial team was actually called upon to go and do the burial,to us this is an improvement from the previous stance where they themselves would venture into preparing and sometimes burying the body. As we speak we are concluding the construction of a Community Care Center in Jenewonde for use of the community and neighboring communities as a holding center so that we can do quicker extraction from the community. We would really appreciate where people posting or disseminating these kinds of information can actually just check in with the county surveillance team or at least visit our meeting one day to get actual facts,these information are weighing on the confidence building we are trying to establish with these communities. There is a weekly press briefing after each Task-force meeting and we wish we could take opportunity of these information to spread the truth.
