Finally had a chance to try Linus Bama BBQ in Itaewon last night. Never heard anything bad about the place, and pretty obvious why. Its fantastic. If you havent tried it, youre missing out on something amazing and truly unique here in Seoul. First off, kind of dark in there, so apologies for the picture. Secondly, Im not from the South, or even American for that matter, so my experience with Southern BBQ is pretty limited. That said, awesome food is awesome food, and this was definitely awesome food. We shared the brisket and pulled pork platter for two, with potato salad, baked beans, slaw, mashed potatoes and six little slider buns. The meat was delicious, both tender and juicy, and their BBQ sauce is great. The mashed potatoes were buttery, and the gravy was really good. Potato salad and slaw were both very good, but I guess the least spectacular items. Still really good. The beans were brought to us by mistake, but the server asked if wed like to keep them, so of course. Fantastic. Id never liked baked beans before, but these were so smoky and flavourful. Highly recommended. The best was making little sandwiches out of either meat, with slaw on top then drowned in BBQ and hot sauce. To me, this place is destination food. Absolutely worth the trip from anywhere. My friend messaged me this morning to ask if we can go again soon. No problem convincing me on that one. Fantastic, and so cool to find a place like Linus in Seoul. The international food scene here improves dramatically all the time.
