Finally settled after a long weekend. This was my first horse show since about 2008. Things didnt go as well as Id hoped. I didnt ride him as well as I can at home but there was a huge learning curve. I dealt with a horse that at best I ride once a week, have never shown, and am riding at a new, higher level during a tough weather weekend. We had rain Friday and I could not work him in the competition arenas before the show started, Sat was very windy with lots of tents and flags flapping which added to Berts excitement, then today we dealt with heat and Bert being pretty fatigued. Overall I learned a lot and dealt with many things that in the past would have intimidated me. Joyce thank you so much for the opportunity to show your beautiful horse! I so appreciate your generosity! He is such a sweetheart and he tried his best! I hope to ride him better next time as we know more of what to expect from each other. I am so grateful to be able to work with just a fantastic and fun animal :-). Great weekend overall!
