Fine weather may mean more planned burning in the far south west of Victoria this week near Casterton, Dergholm and Corndale. We’re monitoring conditions, like fuel moisture levels, temperature and wind, and are expecting to begin more planned burns in the next day or two. There are three planned burns that may go ahead this week; • Dergholm - Peters Track, 544 hectares, 10 km north east of Dergholm • Corndale - Long Lead Track, 366 hectares, 22 km west of Casterton • Nangeela - Tullich Road, remaining 712 hectares of 912 hectares, at Corndale Smoke may be visible in these areas this week. There may also be smoke over the roads nearby so we ask road users to slow down and obey all traffic signs and instructions from fire crews near the burns. If people experience any symptoms that may be due to smoke exposure, they should seek medical advice or call Nurse-on-Call on 1300 60 60 24.
