First of two: the new Windows 9 multi-desktop feature. The video - TopicsExpress

First of two: the new Windows 9 multi-desktop feature. The video is indicative, even though the person showcasing it must have been somewhat useless (it shows), since he or she just goes through the usual stuff, not showing how -- and if -- the new Windows feature can do the actually *useful* stuff. Like, for instance, moving an open window from one desktop to the other. Instead, we only see that you can add and close new, empty, desktops with a click of a mouse button, and that you can basically open programmes in them. Duh! We can also see that the taskbar is common for all desktops, so when you click on the button of a running application, it switches to the relevant desktop. There is no indication, however, of how (if, even) you can have the taskbar be unique for each desktop, only showing the running programmes for that particular desktop and not the others. Anyhow... at least we get a glimpse of what Microsoft has planned. I wonder... half-baked implementation here too, Microsoft? Come oooooon...
