Following the outbreak of the Ebola virus president Koroma is doing everything in his power to contain the virus. He called on Sierra Leoneans to join the fight against the disease. To continue the fight against the scourge president Koroma allocated Le65m (Le65, 000,000 million) each to government ministers to help contain the disease in their various districts. The VP Alhaji Sam Sumana responded to the president’s call by supplying medical equipment to the tune of Le150m to the three most affected districts in the country. The Paramount Chiefs of Kono have also answered the president’s call to declare war on the virus. They are doing their best educating their people about the government new policies to control the virus. Awareness among the people of the fourteen chiefdoms in the district about the control of the virus is almost 79%. Thanks to the Paramount Chiefs for their hard work in sensitising their people about the deadly various. The Koidu City Mayor, Sahr Emmerson Lamina has also rolled up his sleeves and join the fight against the disease. Infact the Mayor was the first person to address the issue of the deadly virus ahead of any other district in the country. He created a task force to train local people who in turn now train the people living in the outskirts of Koidu City. Some government Ministers in the country have responded to the president’s call, using part of the Le65m allocated to them by the president to buy medical equipment for their districts to help contain the disease. In Kono it is all gone quiet; our ministers are nowhere to be seen to fight alongside the people to control the virus. With Le65m in each minister’s possession it is expected that they would come on board and join president Koroma and the people to fight the disease. Where are our ministers; Diana Kabba, Karamoh Kabba and Logus? This is the time that the minister’s should show us that they really care about their land and people. What are they waiting for; our people are dying, the disease is spreading fast and our ministers are nowhere to be seen. Can somebody tell us what is going on with our ministers?
