For all of you who visited Casey in the past week or so, and might be wondering if you were exposed to spinal meningitis, I have been assured by his Neurologist that you are not in any danger ..... ( as a mom, as soon as I heard that diagnosis, it struck fear in my heart!! All I can remember is the countless baby books that I read as a new mom, which told of how serious and possibly deadly that particular diagnosis was!) I was told by Caseys Neurologist this morning that the kind of infection that Casey has is common for Ventricular surgeries such as Caseys... The culture that they took from the spinal tap didnt even grow anything...(thank you Jesus) The Dr says that because Casey was on heavy antibiotics for his UTI it most likely helped keep this new infection from getting worse.. I just thought I should put anyone who visited Casey, minds at ease! Casey is doing so well that Dr says no additional spinal tap is needed!😃 (I cannot tell you how happy that has made him!) Memorial hospital will start the transfer process back to CNS tomorrow, (uhh so they say,) Ive been around that block before😕 Thank you all for your faithfulness!
