For everyone who is about to start the new year new me....if it - TopicsExpress

For everyone who is about to start the new year new me....if it involves a WAIST TRAINER I want to share my story with you. Those that know me, know that in the last past 6 months I had begun to have a hoarseness in my voice. A much more raspier voice. Who would have put 2 and 2 together? Last November when everyone got into the waist trainers, I did to. I measured my waist correctly before I purchased a latex waist trainer. I did not order a smaller size. The first night I wore it, I was out at dinner and had a mixed drink. I felt like I never digested that drink! Actually had to go and make myself throw up because it was so uncomfortable. I started to notice that after my meals I would have acid reflux. After a few months this was with or without the waist trainer. Prior to this, I never had acid reflux issues. Well come to find out...wearing my waist trainer started to make me have acid reflux, which after a few months began to cause acidic irritation to my larynx. Basically the acid had damaged my voice cords. I know everyone is different but educate yourself enough to know that if something is hurting or uncomfortable....it might come with some other side effects. FYI: Indigestion, stomach pain/cramps and acid reflux are signs that the waist trainer should be loosened or removed. As the stomach capacity is reduced when the waist line is constricted, these problems are commonly caused by the waist trainer being too tight, by eating or drinking too much, or by consuming the wrong things. Acid reflux can, however, cause damage to the sphincter muscle that separates your oesophagus from your stomach, so it’s very important to monitor your intake carefully, and be patient during the process of reducing your waist. If you experience acid reflux regularly, remove your waist trainer to avoid damage and avoid high fat foods and spicy foods. Just pay close attention to any side effects. This video is a flexible lighted tube with a camera on the end inserted through my nose to the larynx. I know gross!
