For humans to think that the only intelligent life on a planet - TopicsExpress

For humans to think that the only intelligent life on a planet 4,000,000,000 years old arose in the past 20,000 years has always seemed a bit arrogant--for the way it exalts our current species and makes us think we are on an ever-upwards trajectory--and a bit wishful--for its presumption that we, too, could never pass into historical and geological obscurity. I have not seen these items before - signs of technology embedded in coal deposits hundreds of millions of years old, and other equally ancient technology. But such evidence often provokes denial in many intellectuals much faster than it arouses curiosity. And its implications are the kind of hypothesis that can ruin an academic career.
