For immediate release: The SNO Board loses yet another Director, - TopicsExpress

For immediate release: The SNO Board loses yet another Director, as Rex Leonard resigns in protest over failed leadership, paranoia and other valid concerns about the (lack of) direction at the School of the Natural Order: To Members of the Board and Advisors: For the last many months I have tried to stay above the verbal flurries, actions and reactions that have been sweeping over SNO at Home Farm. I had hoped that the vitriol would subside and all involved would become more extensional and tolerant, if not respectful of other viewpoints and values. Alas, this seems not to be. My attempts to bring about moderation through mediation have been rejected. Now I see evidence of hysterical Paranoia taking hold: bugging devices in residences, REALLY? Demands that people not speak to certain people, pass SNO secrets to others, or the rash of executive sessions, etc. It has seemed to me that these secret meetings are called for no other reason than fear of the accusations and allegations being rebutted or refuted face to face. Now, the paranoia has extended to me, that I am passing SNO secrets to Jim and Karen. This is too much! I have not spoken to Karen in nearly two years. I have spoken to Jim two or three times since we moved, and SNO secrets were never in the conversation. In the first place, I am no longer privy to the childish blather that your cabal on the board dwells upon, which has been a relief. Second: It has always been my position that there should be no secrets concerning SNO affairs. We should be an open and transparent society. Third: I will speak to whomever I want about whatever I want. It seems to me, that you have all gotten so caught up in proprietary concerns about your personal enclave called Home Farm, that you have lost sight of the true teachings of SNO. It also seems that you have conflated anything you construe to be a threat to you personally, to be a threat to SNO. APPLES AND ORANGES. I can see no point in driving 800 miles to a board meeting that can only be a study in futility. With these things in mind and for these reasons, I am writing this letter to you to inform you of my resignation as VP of the board and as a member of the board, effective immediately. I hold no ill will toward anyone, and wish you all only the best you can be, but, I can no longer be a part of it. Sincerely, Rex Leonard
