For just 60 cents a day, you can change everything- Late night - TopicsExpress

For just 60 cents a day, you can change everything- Late night ASPCA Commercial with the sorrowful music and heart wrenching pictures of pitiful looking animals. Animal organizations like the ASPCA spend the money to constantly run these commercials because they work. People will dig deep for animals because they are dependent creatures and humans have an inherent deep seated need to feel needed. There is also a bit of psychology involved. Why do you think charities for foster children are so prevalent? We have to start building bridges/emotional relationships between child welfare involved families and those at risk and the people who will open their wallets. We dont have the benefit of late night commercials but we do have our stories and the ability to speak of our experiences as struggling families in america with the same dreams/aspirations as any other families....We are worth the time and resources of those who have it to give... If we were a genre of movie or character, society would guess thriller or the villain. but they would be guessing wrong because they dont know us. We have allowed others to write our narratives....Child welfare involved parents are not monsters. We arent the villains you see on action flicks. You know...we are typically the super heroes because of everything we have to face every day. We are in many ways the invisible families. Even after a powerful system separates us, we get up everyday, and we pull from our meager reserves of energy and will and we fight to get through the day...we are David in the story David and Goliath and we do it in silence. we ride the buses. drive our cars next to yours...go grocery shopping and no one knows our families are fractured....because we lack resources.... We want your support. We arent puppies but we could still use your 60 cents a day or what is the other euphemism....less than a cup of coffee.... How about it? Please Like and Share...
