For some reason, I was running a low-grade fever yesterday, and my nurse (who is about 30 years old) became worried that I was getting sick, so she kept checking it throughout the evening. Finally, at around midnight, she declared that the ear and/or forehead thermometers arent always entirely accurate, and that she wanted to try an digital oral thermometer. She brought it in and started off by saying, I want to apologize to you in advance. These ones always take forever, so youll probably have to hold it in your mouth for three minutes. THREE MINUTES. Yall older peeps remember the days of mercury thermometers that you had to shake down and hold in your mouth for three freaking hours to get any kind of accurate reading. And dont even get me started on rectal thermometers. :D Gawd, I love Gen Ys/Millennials.
