For some reason, many of us in the Body of Christ feel as if God owes us something. We want double for our trouble, greater than ever, the best is yet to come, and we even say, “You havent seen your greatest days yet” But after a time in prayer over some things, I heard the Lord say to me, “My people have become a people of entitlement. For some reason, they feel as if I owe them something.” He said, “Was not the Cross enough? Was not My Son beaten nearly to death, hung naked and ashamed, ridiculed and criticized enough? Is His blood shed for your life not enough? Why have My people become a people who expect Me to give them more than what I HAVE ALREADY given?” The word of the Lord startled me because He was so true in what He said. I even have, “The Best is Yet to Come” as my email signature but I will be changing that to reflect, “The BEST has ALREADY come – His Name is Jesus”. Father, forgive us for being spoiled, proud, and unappreciative of the things you have already done for us. Thank You for salvation in Christ. Thank You for Holy Spirit. Thank You for access to You through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We apologize for placing demands on You for bigger and better when we know full well that many of those things will escort us farther and farther away from You. We are a spoiled people and we are sorry for our presumptuous sins in Jesus name, amen.
