For those of you who have asked for my lasagna recipe! Sauce: 2 lbs lean ground beef 1 T basil 3 T chopped garlic 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 12 oz tomato paste 48 oz tomato sauce 12 oz water 4 T sugar Brown beef and drain fat if necessary. Add seasonings, tomato sauce/paste, water, and sugar. Cook in crock pot on low for 4 hours or simmer on stove top for 30 mins. Lasagna filling: 16 oz ricotta cheese 8 oz cottage cheese 2 eggs Mix well and set in a bowl. Youll need 1 box of no boil lasagna noodles and 1 bag (2 c) of the Italian blend shredded cheese. I make mine in 6 disposable loaf pans, or could do two 9X13 pans. I start by spooning a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of each pan. I then take a noodle (uncooked) and frost it lightly w the ricotta mixture. I then place it on the sauce and add a sprinkle of the shredded cheese. Next, add another thin layer of sauce (approd 1/2 c if doing loaf pans, 1 1/2 c if 9X13) and move onto the next noodle. I do one noodle at a time for each pan, so I build them all equally. I end the last layer with sauce and sprinkle with cheese. You can bake them immediately, or wrap in foil and freeze like I do. I bake the frozen loaf pans at 375 for an hour, or take them out the night before and put in the fridge to thaw and bake at 530 for 30 mins.
