Forecast for Sunday 20 October Isolated showers developing about the west and far south during the early morning then extending to remaining southern, central and eastern areas in the afternoon. Showers then increasing about southern coastal areas in the evening. Mild to warm with light to moderate northwesterly winds, locally fresh about the east, before a cooler southwest to southeasterly change gradually extends from the southwest during the day. Weather Situation A high over the Tasman Sea will continue to move further away to the east as a weakening cold front approaches from the southwest. The front will move across southern and western coastal areas during Sunday morning then slowly cross the remainder in the afternoon and evening, bringing a southwest to southeasterly change. A high south of Western Australia should maintain a ridge near Tasmania on Monday with a weak trough likely to persist near the north coast. A complex trough is then expected to deepen over Victoria on Tuesday with the ridge shifting southwards.
