Found my self in the Dame Lois Brown Evans building today and decided to have a look at the court rooms, having spent so much time in others as a reporter in the past! Very sleek and modern looking I must say! My first time since the building was built! However my main concern was the numbers of people in civil courts....unemployed and facing mounting unpaid bills. Even worst were the large numbers of people who simply failed to appear! I see we are still threatening to and apparently jailing people for bills! Thought we were going to dump that archaic practice of jail for debt! Ill repeat my cry.... Bermudians must start to be employed over and before cheap submissive foreign labour for all jobs but particularly for lower skilled jobs or there will be serious upheaval in the country!
