Four Bridges will sound like five or six bridges when they take Nick-a-Nees on Wednesday, August 27th. From their site: We’re a Bluegrass/Americana band based in New England. We perform traditional bluegrass, original tunes and mix in some tasty covers. Weve been performing together since 2005. Four Bridges is: Jeremy Place-mandolin, guitar, vocals. By day, Jeremy is in college studying music education. At night, he’s an avid songwriter and bread baker. He picks and writes after he gets his two young boys tucked in bed and a couple of loaves in the oven. Jeremy lives in Middleboro, MA. Benjamin Marshall-banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, vocals & bass. Benjamin grew up on a Rhode Island emu farm run by his loving family. His dad Rusty was a pit man and mechanic on the stock car racing circuit and brought little Ben with him up and down the east coast. Rusty also winter plowed and took Ben, a pot of coffee and a Flatt & Scruggs double eight track every time he left to work those long nights. The rest is history. Ben admires and respects the bluegrass icons and that sound is very much a part of Bens musical chemistry. Look for Bens Dad, Rusty, manning our record table. Ben and Rusty are Rhode Islanders. Russ Hermansen-bass, guitar. Russ is a carpenter, a fisherman, and a former hippy. Hes been laying down the beat for Massachusetts bluegrass bands for twenty years and counting. Russ claims he remembers Woodstock. He lives in Kingston, MA. Greg Ferreira-mandolin, guitar, banjo, harmonica, vocals. Greg is a classically-trained pianist who loves music. As a young boy, Greg passionately practiced Franz Liszts Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 in between playing baseball and other boyhood pastimes like catching frogs and shooting bows and arrows. In his teens, Bill Monroe & the Stanleys caught his ear & he got to work playing that high lonesome sound. Hailing from Aquidneck Island, he is the tallest member of Four Bridges and is often the one hooting & hollering & getting everyone pumped up. fourbridgesband/
