Four years ago, I watched a team of maroon polos lead FLC 2010. Yesterday at FLC 2014, I was one of them, and from where I stood... it was an oh, man, moment. I was filled with so much pride. I cannot fully express how gratifying it is to represent you, Area 5. From the bright yellow & orange headbands to the posters, facepaint, and overall cheers; we only took up a third of a seating section but we made our voices heard with our Cheetah pride because it goes ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON. Ive lost my voice from the cheering and yelling and ushering, but I hope all 330 of you were inspired yesterday and are ready to take on service with open heart, open arms. (And get pumped for Cycles of Service this year!) “Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless. -Sherry Anderson. To all the Cheetahs, Interactors, involved youth out there: you are priceless. Your purpose and actions with which you take them for are invaluable, and FLC 2014 was only the beginning. Its a new week and the last place we want to be is school, but I encourage you to utilize this opportunity to spread the Interact love and spirit. Much like the lights we held up during the project videos, each of you are capable of illuminating a sense of passion and service within your communities. Our District theme this year is, Break barriers of indifference and build bridges of understanding. With such a simple and beautiful concept in mind, you can make a change. Big or small, YOU MATTER. Remember that. I love you, A5. Ill see you Cheetahs soon! (Our Benefit Show will be held on November 8th. Auditions are ongoing.) Stay charging and stay inspiring the uninspired, Mama Cheetah
