Four young men set sail for an ocean of possibilities. With nothing more than a sailboat and a dream, we leave our homes in the hope to make change. Living On The Wind is a web series, and eventually a feature length documentary, that follows these four young men; Anthony Bettridge, Nathan Melnyk, Robert Melnyk, and Jason Melnyk, as they sail South for Haiti. With the assistance of Neal Hershey and his nonprofit organization, AddWater, we plan to build water filtration systems in countries such as Haiti and Mexico. However, this project would not be possible without the participation of our contributors. What is a contributor? Well, the simple answer is you. Anyone can contribute towards this project. We like to call this system, Cooperative Community. We all have our own individual passions. Whether we are painters, musicians, film makers, adventurers, etc, we all have a need to express ourselves in some creative form. The idea behind our Cooperative Community is to create an outlet for anyone, and when we say anyone we mean anyone and everyone, to express themselves and share their creative talents. We are taking steps toward an adventure ripe with possibility. Each of the four of us have our own individual passions. Nathan has a spirit for adventure and a heart set on humanitarianism. Robert is a talented guitar player and respectable musician. Anthony is a natural poet and aspiring musician. Jason sees beauty through a lens and lives to share his visions with the world. Each of us have a passion, but all of us share a dream. That dream is to see people come together and share their creative talents to construct unique creations. On the boat we, together, will assist one another in our creative process to progress our creative talents. We dont want to stop there. We wish to share this idea with each and every one of you. You too can participate in this creation! Are you a struggling musician looking for a way to share your music with others? Say you hear one of Roberts original compositions and it speaks to you. In fact, you get so inspired that you decide to add your own influence to the song. Send it to us when youre done, we will listen. If we like it and decide that it fits the spirit of the film, we will incorporate it into the project. This doesnt just stop at music. We will accept any and all creative contributions toward the film, and everyone will receive credit. Paint the box art for the documentary. Share advice about the editing of the film. Give constructive criticism on the blog. Wherever your passion lies, you have found your outlet. We want to make something great. We have a vision to show the world that we dont have to do everything on our own. We can band together and create something that will not only touch the hearts of many, but will speak to all for years to come. You can be a part of this project.
