Friday night movie review! Whiplash: Ive been hearing great things about this movie, and when it was nominated for Best Picture, I finally had to see for myself. All I can say is: wow. Just wow. I was just blown away by this movie. It centers around a jazz drummer competing at the best music school in the country and his complete a-hole of a teacher. Its the story of obsession and the insane drive it takes to be the best. But go a level deeper and you learn why the drive is there for both student and teacher and what both are willing to do to achieve greatness. The last 10 minutes of this movie was one of the best scenes I can ever remember seeing - it completely electrified me and left me speechless. This movie is an A+. I want to wait a while to let it sink in, but right now Id call it the best movie Ive seen in a year or more. youtu.be/7d_jQycdQGo
