From DOTD: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DOTD encourages motorists to use caution while driving on bridges ALEXANDRIA, La. - DOTD encourages motorists to use caution on all elevated structures throughout Alexandria, as the presence of freezing fog has resulted in the formation of ice on bridges. District personnel will continue to scout possible impacted areas for safety on the roadways if an area is impacted. In addition, DOTD crews will apply salt to any affected bridges. DOTD advises motorists to look out for DOTD work vehicles applying salt to area bridges and overpasses. If you have to drive, do it slowly, carefully, and avoid driving while distracted. Allow for extra driving time, reduce speeds when visibility is low, and make sure there is plenty of room between vehicles.
