From a member: Please help. In need of advice: I am a Veteran with PTSD who got out of the Military 2 years ago. Last year I suddenly became depressed and could not get out of bed. In fear of being depressed I had my wife drive me to the VA and I requested to see a Doctor. They got me over to mental health and immediately put me on antidepressants. At first they worked for about 6 months and then I had a relapse and could no longer get out of bed again. I have been prescribed every single kind of major antidepressant and I feel worse than ever. I even developed this extreme anxiety that I had never had in my life. When I am on antidepressants I cannot function through the day because I am in an extreme Zombie Mode. I recently decided to go off antidepressants completely and see if I can fight my depression and anxiety on my own. The medication is so overwhelming that my body cant function with it. I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts or had done this before and had some kind of advice for me. Thank you.
