From desk of Jami Shb Dear All, We, people of Sindh, request - TopicsExpress

From desk of Jami Shb Dear All, We, people of Sindh, request all of the concerned citizens of Pakistan, esp. Sindh to draw their kind attention to a serious matter presented here; recently the British High Commission, Karachi has published a job advertisement, (see the link: https://gov.uk/government/world/organisations/british-high-commission-islamabad/about/recruitment#vacancies-in-british-deputy-high-commission-karachi) which has used extremely discriminatory and misguiding language, i.e. rather an offense for the people of Sindh. We often witness that many non-Sindhi speaking citizens based in Karachi use the jargons like “Karachi and Sindh”, “Karachi and interior Sindh”, “Karachi and rural Sindh”, which (directly or indirectly) serve the heinous and hostile interests of the groups who plan to break geographical and political unity of Sindh. It must be clarified that Sindh is a historical homeland, and its geographical unity is as sacred and un-compromisable as can be of the motherland of any nation in the world. We, people of Sindh, register a formal condemnation and protest against this bigoted language of the advertisement, and strongly demand from the authorities of British High Commission to extend a formal apology on this irresponsible act, and re-advertise the ad with appropriate language, which should be (instead of Karachi and Sindh) Karachi (comma) Sindh. We people of Sindh would like to explain here that we respect intra-provincial diversity, and want to create political and social harmony among the inhabitants of the province instead of dividing them on the basis of ethnicity, cast, color, creed, language and religion. We also demand from the British High Commission, Karachi to make a sincere commitment to not use such inconsiderate language in future that hurt the sentiments of people of Sindh.
